Park in the style of an English garden
About the place
Valtice Castle Park covers an area of about 25 hectares. Over 100 species of trees grow here. Although the park was part of a nobleman's estate and was landscaped in the style of an English garden, for several decades in the last century it was almost impossible to visit. Not far behind the castle, the state border and the Iron Curtain passed through the park. Visits to the park were also difficult for local residents, and this period also had an impact on the condition of the park; its first-class maintenance was certainly not a priority.
