Lichtenstein Colonnade with a view
About the place
This lookout building from the beginning of the 19th century is a dominant feature of Valtice. It was built as a memorial of Jan Josef I of Liechtenstein to his father and brothers, as evidenced by the inscription Son to father, brother to brothers. The colonnade stands on the hill of the same name at an altitude of 291 m, making it the highest point in the Lednice-Valtice area. From its gallery you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surroundings. Near Rajstna, the Knížecí and Valtice Trail meets the Prague-Vienna Greenways. You can continue along it to Austria towards Vienna or on the other side via Znojmo, Jindřichův Hradec and Tábor to Prague.
