St. Margaret's Church
Pritluky • Religious sights
Catholic church in the middle of the village
About the place
The present building dates from 1784 and has a Gothic core. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret and the church tower stands separately a few metres away. Here, a bell from 1760, cast in Mikulov, and a small dying bell hang above the spiral wooden stairs. The baroque copper tower was completed in 1765. Today there are monumentally protected - artistically significant, early Baroque statues - St. John of Nepomuk, St. Vendelin, the Holy Trinity and St. Florian. They originally stood in the village and are symbolic for the patron saint of shepherds, protection of cattle and protection of buildings from fire.
