Former railway bridge for siding
About the place
The railway siding, which connected the sugar factory with the main railway line, was built in the 1870s. The railway bridge over which the siding ran is one of the last riveted truss bridge structures in the country. It has been declared a cultural monument and is currently used as a footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists, connecting the two banks of the flowing river Dyje. It connects directly to the sugar factory area, which you can learn more about in the app.
