About the place
The Lednice State Chateau is undoubtedly one of the most visited monuments in the Czech Republic. The neo-Gothic reconstruction in the 19th century made it a romantic mansion surrounded by one of the largest European parks (almost 200 hectares), where visitors can find a palm greenhouse, a Venetian fountain, a Roman aqueduct, a Chinese pavilion and a minaret. Thanks to the unique connection between the architectural monuments and the surrounding man-made nature, the entire Lednice-Valtice area was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.

Local Tips
Parking
Lednice Castle is without surprise one of the most visited monuments in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, this also means a huge demand for parking in the small village. We recommend using the municipal central car park at the Hotel Galant, from where it is only a few dozen metres to the castle. Please have coins ready to pay the parking fee.
Availability
During the summer months, the tour circuits are very busy. Sometimes you may not even get to the first tour. We recommend that you take other tours or get in early and be among the first ones there. Otherwise, try to come on the last tours. Off-season visits to the castle are much quieter and more affordable.
