Classical summer palace in the forest park above Valtice
About the place
Belveder was built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. In addition to its ornamental and representative function, Belveder also had a practical function, serving as the centre of a pheasant farm. During the reign of Prince John I of Liechtenstein, the summer palace was modified. After a fire in 1894, rare Chinese silk wallpapers were placed here. Prince Alois I received them from Queen Marie Antoinette of France. Since June 2021, the Belvedere has been open to the public for the first time. Admission is free.
